Cell Service on GSC?

I know..strange question. But I have to make a phone call on the the day we are in GSC. Of course it can't be when we are in Port Canaveral.

 

So does anyone know if there is cell service on the island?

I can't answer that but we found a service right at the port where you could use a phone to call home. $5 for 25 minutes to the US. Worked great!

There is no cell service on the island, but you can use the ships sattelite cellular plan to make the call from the ship (and maybe from GSC) Normally, the ships cellular service is turned off in a port, but my guess is that not at GSC.

I definitely got cell service at GSC I remember because my Dad was ill and I got a call from my sister. It was Batelcell ( bahamas cell tower) maybe it is the type of phone or the provider. I have AT&T 3G smartphone

We were able to get our Southwest boarding passes from GSC using our cell phones.

so, it sounds like NCL does turn off the cell-at-sea service when at GSC. Check with your cell provider about coverage in the Bahamas to learn more about what you need to do on your phone or a temporary change in your service plan.

Correct you will need international roaming..
