Hi I thought it would be a Good Idea to make One Post for anyone looking for Info on Either NCL-CAS Info or Princess/Carnival Ocean Players Club Info all in one post....

First let me say We Cruise on all the lines But mostly Princess and Now NCL as well.....Through reading here on CC We've found Loads of Awesome Info, Ideas and Tips about Cruises and Casino Info....

When We first started crusing We never knew of any of the Players Clubs and would only be offered some Drinks or Comped Treats/Dinners once in awhile.....

Fast Forward and Now We know that if you Call Any of the above Players Clubs or CAS before you cruise you can Really Benefit alot better.....

NCL has what they call CAS(Casino at Seas)-The Direct Phone Number is 877-742-9521.....When you call them they will look up your last cruise and Based on Your Casino Play will Either A)-Comp you some sort of Cabin, B)-Give you some kind of Discount on a Cabin and C)-Can give you the Free Drink Cards for use in the Casino.....(REMEMBER EVERYTHING IS BASED ON YOUR LAST CRUISE AND HOW MUCH TIME AND MONEY YOU PLAYED IN THE CASINO)......

CARNIVAL AND PRINCESS-Have what they call The Oceans Players Club-The Direct Phone Number is 888-672-2582(You'll have a choice to push a number for either Carnival or Princess)....

We've found through Carnival that We'll get Cash in the Casino, Treats like Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Cookies and Wine sent to the cabin......Have now heard they also have the Drinks On Us Program but havent cruised with them recently to know fully about it....

On Princess Weve found that each time We call now they'll look at all the Table and Slot Play from the last cruise as well(I WAS TOLD THAT EVEN IF YOUR NOW BOOKING PRINCESS THEY'LL LOOK AT YOUR LAST CARNIVAL PLAY, IF THAT WAS YOUR LAST CRUISE)..

Now an Important Couple of things:-I always call each of the above a few weeks after We get back from a cruise and Ask them What We Might be Getting in Deals/Comps on Our Next Upcoming Cruise....(I Write that down)....Because Depending on Who you talk to You May Get More or Less().....

Point in Question was when We just got back from Our Hawaii/Golden in November I called and was told I'd get $400 Cash on my next Princess Cruise......

Today We Booked Our Upcoming Princess November Panama Canal Cruise so I once again called the Players Club to see if there was a Difference and to have them INPUT OUR BOOKING NUMBER....

At first I was told I'd only get $75.00........WHAT THE HECK!!!!....

I explained that I had already been told $400 by a Diff Rep and Low and Behold Sure enough there it was on their screens....

So just saying....Checking and Rechecking can bring Different Results.....

Plus I've read on here about some people being told theyd get X/Y once Onboard and then once they were NOTHING......

For Myself, I now make sure and Give the Rep my Booking Number and make sure they READ IT BACK TO ME with Whatever the Offer/Comp was....

Plus as a Last Note to this Long Winded Post would be Once Onboard, Introduce yourself to the Casino Host.....It can go along way and they will keep Track of your Time and Play.... Plus they are the ones who Comp you things like Wine, Treats or Even Restaurants while your on the cruise.....

Hope this Helps Some Fellow Gamblers and GOOD LUCK AND HIT IT BIG ON YOUR NEXT CRUISE......:D

There is a 3rd factor on NCL CAS bookings: How popular the ship & itinerary are. You will not get as much of a comp on, say, the Epic Eastern Caribbean (a very popular ship and itinerary) as you will on one of the older ships on the Western Caribbean run.

Video Tech, from my limited CAS experience it seems that what holds the most weight regarding cabin comp offers is play history not necessarily how popular a cruise is. I recently received from CAS a spa minisuite comp on a very popular 2013 Breakaway sailing. I guess CAS figures I will give them a repeat $$$$ performance of my casino activity on the Star :)

Never said play history wasn't important, and I'd agree it may be the most important factor. But many people get annoyed when they play a lot and don't get a good comp on their next cruise, and sometimes this is due to the popularity of the itinerary and ship.

A ship like the Epic, on the Eastern Caribbean run, will easily sell out at normal rates, and CAS will have less inventory to work with on that ship than on an older ship on the Western Caribbean run. All our cruises are CAS cruises, and we play consistently and heavily on each cruise. We've definitely noticed a variance in the next offer that matches the popularity of the itinerary and ship we're trying to book.

That is interesting. When I booked my Breakaway cruise I asked what were all my cruise options for this comp and was told any 7 day cruise except on the POA because there is no casino. I suspect if I called back and got another agent I would have gotten a different answer. Glad I got the agent I did because that was the cruise I wanted.

A month or so back I picked up an NCL balcony comp cruise certificate from Foxwoods Casino. I went to get the certificate with a friend I work with and her comp was for an inside cabin. The brochure they give us with available cruises listed all the 7 day Epic cruises and all sail dates up to April 2013. There were hundreds and hundreds of people there picking up their certificates, and I suspect many of these folks will choose the Epic which makes me think that many of these land casino cruise comps limit the CAS comp cabin inventory also. I was not interested in the Epic, so chose a West Carib on the Pearl and upgraded to a minisuite for $200/pp.

Just wanted to add something about Checking and Rechecking about Casino Comps.....

Point in Question was when We got back from Our Hawaii/Golden last November I called Princess Players Club and was told I'd get $400 Cash on my next Princess Cruise......

We Booked Our Upcoming Princess November Panama Canal Cruise so I once again called the Players Club to see if there was a Difference and to have them INPUT OUR BOOKING NUMBER....

At first I was told I'd only get $75.00........WHAT THE HECK!!!!....

I explained that I had already been told $400 by a Diff Rep and Low and Behold Sure enough there it was on their screens....

So Yesterday We had to change our Cruise plans and Cancel our Panama Canal cruise BUT Rebooked a November 2012 Mexico Cruise on the Sapphire....

I tried calling Princess Players club all day Yesterday but kept getting their answering machine......

Called back this morning and spoke with the rep and gave hime our original Panama Booking Number and Now Our New One.....

Whoever the last rep was that I had spoke with that had told me I was getting $400 in casino cash hadnt inputted it in Correctly and the new rep was only showing $100 Credit coming.....WHAT!!!!!!!

Now he Relooked at our last Princess cruise and SURE ENOUGH I STILL HAVE $400.00 COMING ON THIS CRUISE.....:D

So Check and Rechecking this with the Players Club is Very Very Important......After having problems with comp credits being done right on our last NCL cruise, I would of been Extremely Mad had I got onboard and only had $100 showing up.....

I know I'll even call back again right before the cruise and VERIFY AGAIN that everything is Correct.....:D

Do any of the other lines besides NCl offer comp cabins?

Thanks

We were comped a suite on an 8 day Carnival cruise last Aug and got another comped suite offer that we couldn't take them up on. The comped suite was a great deal because we didn't even have to pay port fees and taxes (on NCL we always have to pay those fees). Now that Carnival's casino players club has been taken over by marketing, the comps have gone down drastically!

We received a comped (inside but could upgrade for $ if we wanted to) on the Epic next month. We will pay only port charges and taxes.

This is our 8th NCL cruise and we have probably booked the last 5 through Casinos at Sea. This is the most we have ever gotten.

I do know from experience though that you can call and be told that your past play doesn't qualify you for any discounts and then call back a couple of days later and get a different rep who may say you get a 17% discount...

I believe any rated player where they have rated play (Harrahs/Caesars/CAS) at their minimum of higher will generally get the 17% discount. For comped rooms or suites above that - it'll take higher levels of play. They will use higher level of play from inside our outside their gaming network. Inside would be Harrahs/Caesars/CAS), outside would be host references (host connections to other hosts), casino credit, etc.

Thanks for the post. I am curious if anyone knows what kind of $$$ you need to put down in a week in order to get these benefits? I sure wish I would have tracked my spending on my last cruise....spent and lost quite a bit :(

I am a minimal gambler but I have a great independant CAS travel agent. He was able to get me 17% off of the Aft Penthouse Suite for my upcomming Dawn Repo Cruise. By booking through him I will also have the casino drink card waiting in the cabin and usualy get little treats from the casino throughout the cruise :D
