HZ1112 Posted April 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2012 How long before the ship sails do they close bookings? I am considering sailing away this sunday and as of now there are still cabins available.. but we are still deciding and I am wondering how much time do I really have to make a decision? 2Cruise4Ever Posted April 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Typically, they send the passenger manifest to Homeland Security about 72 hours prior to sailing. However, I've heard of people booking the day before.
Rare drumexpert510 Posted April 5, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Ya I heard the day before but that is really stretching it... I would go ahead and book it because its only 3 days away at this point. Dont push it if you really want to go.

jakesnana Posted April 5, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Current rule is 60 to 90 minutes before departure. While this is true, the bookings will disappear from the online portal the day before sailing. If you wait until the day of departure to book, you would need to call the cruise line to see if there is any availability.
njhorseman Posted April 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2012 The final passenger manifest is due 60 minutes before sailing. As far as booking the cruise is concerned, if there are cabins available, NCL will show them on their web site until about 24 hours prior to the cruise. However, if they will accept bookings made by phone at their reservations center until mid morning of the day of the cruise. I think the cut off is about 10 am. Of course waiting that long risks nothing being available, as most cruises sail full.
