Does NCL have an Upgrade Fairy?

My wife and I are going on the breakaway on august 25, we got offered a balcony from inside cabin for 350. Not sure if thats a good deal, but I took it.

Is there a way to see how many rooms are still open on our upcoming cruise (I'm curious). My cruise is 6 days away

 

Put in an imaginary booking and the list of rooms will come up. You can also check some of the on line TA's...like travelocity or expedia.

I tried this but Aug 23 doesn't even show up anymore (too close I assume) so I was curious if there was another way. Dying to know if the cruise will be full or not :)

I think you made the right call.

we are on the cruise before you, and we got a similar offer. We felt it was a great deal (especially since they offered an aft cabin with an oversized balcony). We were thrilled to take that offer.

:)Do you have a better upgrade chance on NCL if you booked directly? How are your chances if you used a T agent?:confused:

 

It all depends if the TA will relay the possible offer they get from NCL to you or not.

If you book a GTY is it still possible to get an upgrade call or do you have to have selected a room? THis is our first time on Norwegian.

 

Everything is possible. However the fairy calls are extremely rare so I wouldn't hold my breath - I used to have hopes before our first few cruises but not anymore. :D

 

Also the most probable passengers getting calls are the ones booked popular cabins like aft balconies etc which are pretty guaranteed to sell if one becomes available, cabins assigned to guarantees are usually the ones that nobody has picked otherwise.

We are sailing on Sept 7th, on the Jewel. I planned a group of friends to go with us..so we are 16 strong....this will be my 13th cruise NCL and have another NCL already booked on the Dawn for April 2014. When we sailed on the Jade the Upgrade Fairy called us 4 days before we left with an offer to move from a balcony cabin to a Penthouse Cabin..we jumped at the chance. If she is reading this post, we would be more than happy to upgrade on the Jewel.. (heck a girl can hope can't she?)

Just out of curiosity.... has anyone ever heard if NCL upgrade fairy upgrade passengers to the Garden Villas? We are booked in a DOS and dreaming "What if" we got the call from NCL. Hey, we can dream can't we? :D

Yes but the call is made to your TA and it's up to them if they will try and contact you - some big online TAs probably won't.

Hi All,

 

Booked for the April 10th cruise on the jewel it is not very full we have a mini suite anyone been offered an upgrade to the haven suites if so what was the cost approx. of the upgrade and how many were in your cabin.

 

Also anyone know any tricks to get them to call you (will it help to call and ask etc.)

That is not the case, ANYONE travel agent booked or not can call the UPSELL # I just did and after a couple tries paid only 500pp more for 2 room suite w/ butler in Haven. Well worth it, very happy

Thank you for that information. I've called the upsell desk in the past and been given an upsell for an additional, but much discounted, price. But, when I did call, I had booked direct with NCL. For our upcoming May cruise, I booked through a discount on line agency and was concerned that when I call this time, NCL wouldn't talk to me about the availability and cost to upsell to a better cabin.
