Slot Tournament

How does the slot tournament work? What does it cost?

Thanks

I entered a slot tournament on my past Glory cruise. Cost was $20pp/per play and you basically had 5 minutes to get as many points as possible. They would take the top 9 scorers out of the three hour or so window and they would move on to the final round. Each player would pick their own slot machine in the final (basically, top scoring person from the qualifying round would have the first pick of machines, all the way down to the last person, who pretty much got the last one left). Each player in the final round got a t-shirt that says "Winning isn't everything. But it's pretty much the best thing." and you again have one final 5 minute round to get as many points as possible. Whoever has the most points from that final round session (scores are not cumulative) they win the tournament. Pretty easy.

I love doing the Slot Tourney. I have played on each of our 4 cruises and will do so again this Sept. Last cruise, i had to talk my sister into entering (she would have rather 'waste' her money at the penny/nickel slots. She did it to keep me company. I even had to remind her to get down to the casino to see if we advanced. We both did, then I fell out and she advanced to final.*** Can you tell where this is headed? *** She WON the whole thing $500. I was so P#%$*@!!!! She did give me $60 but also displayed the ship on a stick in a very visible place in our cabin. I proceeded to enter every trivia contest I could find until I won my on ship on a stick. Take That - Big Sister!!! Kidding aside - the Slot Tourneys are a blast. Have Fun.

As others mentioned, basically you sit for 5 minutes and keep hitting the 'maximum play' button on the machine and hope to get a score high enough to be one of the finalists.

Personally, I like to go later in the contest because a few cruises ago I was #2 from an earlier round and made it all the way to two spots from the bottom in the late rounds, and wouldn't you know it, the very last two people qualifying knocked me off. Two years ago and it still hurts!

I just entered and didn't make it in both slot tournaments last week. I had a coupon for a free t-shirt for entering 3 tournaments (2 slots and 1 blackjack), so basically I bought a t-shirt for $60. It was fun trying though - especially when you get a full bank of people in a qualifying round and they are all cheering their machines on. I did win the very first time, so the way I see it, I am slowly paying back that loan one tournament at a time.

Don't worry, absolutely no skill/knowledge needed.

If you can press a button, you can win (or, or more likely, lose).

DW and I entered once, and neither of us made it to the final round. However, they passed out raffle tickets for the "wild card" entry into the final for all the losers to have a second chance.

People were there waiting for the drawing and the final round to start. They were taking pictures of themselves pointing to their "position" on the scoreboard for the final round.

I jokingly told DW to take a picture of me, pointing to the "wild card" position, and she did.

Then the drawing for the wild card spot started. They drew the number, and oh well, it wasn't mine. No biggie...

But...no one showed up with that number, so they drew another number, yup, it was mine. Good Kharma, I guess.

Didn't win, but was fun to be a "finalist."

They did not have a wild card seat for either slot tournament last week.

We didn't have a wild card seat either. Our slot tourney was on St. Patty's Day, so each player had an envelope above their machine, and if you had a shamrock, you get a ticket to win one of three gift baskets (all same value/same things in them). I advanced to the finals, with a ticket in the raffle, and my friend did not advance, but did have a ticket for the raffle. Lo and behold, she was the first ticket pulled, and i ended up losing in the final:p. I was more jealous of her OPC towel. They were pretty nice!

I won the tournament on the Destiny. 500 big ones (of which the dw grabbed half) ,tee shirt and Players Club hat AND a ship on a stick saying SLOT TOURNAMENT CHAMPION (no ship name though). Absolutely, positively NOTHING more exciting than that final round. Except maybe a hot craps table.:D
