Question for JohnQ

I see on one of your post that you were in Homer on your last trip. How much time did you spend there and what are some of the "not to miss" things?

By the way, did you do any fishing there?

Thanks,

Charlie

Hi Charlie

We drove down from Anc, taking our time and got there late afternoon. We spent the the next day in Katmai, and left the next morning, so I guess we were there two nights and about 2 days. We enjoyed going there, but didn's see a lot more to do. If we had one more day, we would have taken a bay tour or gone across the bay to spend a few hours walking around over there. We did the spit the day we got there, went back again when we got back from Katmai about 3:30 and ate there. Had our picture taken with some halibut that had just come in, saw two big lines of fish. Since we were heading for Seward and then back to Anc before catching our cruise ship to Vanc, we did not fish. I think two-three days there would be good, maybe one more if fishing. Check out 3moosemeadow.com for nice two level new cabin in isolated meadow right in town where we saw moose in evening.
