dachshunddoglover Posted April 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2012 We would like to do the Trail ride with Spicelands on May 29th. but our ship leaves at Noon. They have an 8 am ride. Does anyone know how far away Spicelands is and would this be doable? What bus # would we take to get there? Thanks so much for any info - E-Beth
Rare 3rdGenCunarder Posted April 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2012 They're on Middle Road, so you'd need the #8 bus (Hamilton to Dockyard). It goes every half hour. See this link for route and schedule info. http://www.taxibermuda.com/bermuda_bus_schedule-information.htm I'm not sure how long the bus takes, maybe 40-45 minutes. Consider taking a taxi back to the dockyard if you're nervous about the timing. The people at Spicelands are very nice, I'm sure they'd call a taxi for you. I've only ever done the bus between Spicelands and Hamilton, so I'm not sure about timing. Try emailing them to find out what time the bus leaves them. IIRC, the stop is near the end of their driveway.
SailBadtheSinner Posted April 13, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2012 I think 3rdGen's (PP) estimate of travel time is on the high side but nothing major that would change any decisions. The distance is about 10 miles. If you read Spiceland's site, it states you have to check in 30 minutes before your ride. If your ride is at 8:00am that means you have to be there at 7:30am. There is a #8 bus which departs the Dockyard at 6:35am and would get you to Spicelands with plenty of time to spare. The next bus is a 7:05am which would get you there a little later than required. The excursion is doable but it might be best to use a taxi for both trips. SBtS
