Where'd you hear that? recently?

Yes, we were on the Celebrity Constellation and the Epic was docked across from us at St. Maarten.

We are booked on the Epic out of Barcelona 27 May and expect to have a great time. Still, I do not like NCL's smoking policy.

I hear that the central location of the casino with its heavy smoke is a drawback. Also, I have heard that the onboard reservation system has problems.

Don't worry too much about what you've heard. I sailed on the Epic a few months ago and never really noticed any smoke. There were a lot of complaints initially on these boards about the smell but from what I experienced, NCL has worked very hard at minimizing it.

As for the onboard reservation system, I did not use it but I know folks from my sailing who did and no one mentioned anything bad about it. Of course that by no means that there wasn't an issue - I just didn't hear about any problems.

I hope you enjoy your time onboard this great ship!

Sailed once, doing 2nd time next week. One week is not enough..

I realised that I didn't eat in half the places, did Manhattan rm two nights, buffet one night, cirque dreams one night, O'Sheehans 2 but this time will do Taste and Cagneys/Moderno or one of the others in lieu of cirque dreams.

I never drank a drink at Maltings or the pool bar (was either h2o or on deck 18 ), or anything from the atrium cafe etc..did the Studios last time but doing a "normal" room this time.

Hey Don!

We are thinking of booking again too ... after much thought, we can't get this ship out of our heads:D:eek: May I ask when you are 'tentatively' booked?

I have athsma and didn't have an issue with the smoke in the casino. It was much less than in other casinos on land and only allowed in certain places on the casino floor.

People who don't smoke will always have an issue with the smell of smoke. It's best to move along to an area without that smell if you're bothered by it.

The reservation system, indeed he entire satellite based system through the tvs seemed to have buggy moments, particularly at the beginning of the cruise. It got better a day or so in.
