Loucat Posted April 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2012 What port are you asking about? I think that would help responses.

elcuchio24 Posted April 17, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 17, 2012 The main lobster season is in the summertime. During midsummer the lobsters are the cheapest, and there are also 'shedders' where have recently molted and don't have hard shells yet (anywhere from just a littke crunchy to so soft you can put your thump through the body). Shedders usually can't be shipped as they are so delicate so you can only find them in/near a lobster port but the meat is the sweetest you'll ever find. Although you are going later in the summer/early fall, you won't have any problem getting plenty of fresh lobster, they usually don't start drawing from lobster pounds until the winter when prices increase. Have fun!:)
