Approx what would the taxi rate be from a beach-front hotel in fort lauderdale (like near the Westin) to Port Everglades???

 

Also what is the rate from the airport to the beach area???

 

Thinking about what area to book a pre-cruise hotel -- we've done the 17th street area, would like to try something else

It's $2.50 to get in the cab and $2.40 per mile after the first 1/6 mile. See the thread of "Port Everglades Shuttle Scam" for other taxi issues you MAY encounter. Your fare should be around $10-12 depending on traffic and the bridge openings. Airport to beach is around $18.

From the beach Westin, I would budget $15. Give or take a couple dollars depending on traffic and tip. It's not a long drive.
