CZodda Posted April 17, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Good Evening Everyone! I am looking into booking an Ocean Suite for the 9/27 sailing on the Miracle out of NYC. I am on the fence however as to which rate to book - there is still the Early Saver, and then I can also book at the VIP Casino Rate ($50 less than the Early Saver). I am wondering - do the prices on suites ever go down? I was thinking it was not likely, but perhaps I am wrong? What do you all think? Thanks for your advice and have a great day tomorrow! mondello Posted April 17, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2012 If suite bookings are lagging they can lower the price or offer upsells to PAX in balcony cabins. As a gambler booking the casino VIP rate, you should be willing to gamble that the suite fare may drop more than $50, thus making the ES fare the better option. You could clean up on price drops or end up paying $50 more than necessary. Feelin' lucky?
kicia Posted April 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Yes the suites do have price drops. We got $650 each for a $1300 total last year on the Magic but had to move from a wrap to a suite to get that. I don't know if the casino rate is a rate that can be matched to from ES. I would call and if it is then I would book the ES rate and immediately submit the form for the casino rate. One cruise we booked under ES and the senior rate was $10 per person lower at the same time. We submitted the form and got the OBC right away. CZodda Posted April 17, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Awesome information Kicia and Mondello - thank you! I think I will "roll the dice" and book ES - I am definitely a gambler at heart! ;-)
Irishlinny Posted April 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2012 When we first sailed the Miracle out of NY 3 years ago, we booked a suite because my daughter was with us. We got around $650 in OBC from price drops! The sailing was in May, so off season. Since you are sailing in hurricane season, I bet you might see some as well;) Good luck and keep a close eye on those prices...they can fluctuate daily (and sometimes even more often).
