The deck plans for Ventura in the new 2013 brochure make no mention of a 'Retreat' whereas it's very clearly marked on the Azura deck plans. The only significant difference I can see in Ventura's 2013 deck plans are the new single cabins down the port side of F deck, which reduce the size of The Exchange quote considerably. Apart from that change, and the fleet-wide reclassification of the cabins, it's all as it is now - even Ramblas is still there.

I had noticed that too. The reduction in size of The Exchange will make it much smaller, eliminating the well used area of sofas and comfy chairs on the port side and leaving only the casino and the area of bentwood chairs and stools immediately around the bar. The venue will be too small to operate as an entertainment venue and will probably revert to a pub with video jukebox - this would suit me personally but may not be universally popular.

I understand there were plans to replace Ramblas with the Glass House but as it remains on the 2013 plans I guess those plans are either shelved or dropped. Good thing too as it is my favourite bar. Apparently Ramblas is increasing in popularity, maybe as people gradually realise it is not a cover charge restaurant.A table companion last trip though just that and had not visited the bar. Ramblas has atmosphere unlike IMO Metropolis which, apart from worse vibration than Thomsons equivalent Horizon bars, has non of Horizons cosy feeling, friendly staff and entertainment that beats Metropolis.

Note also that in this regard Ventura & Azura will be the opposite way round, assuming the Ventura deck plans are correct. In both ships the single cabins run along the port side of this area. On Ventura, the casino occupies the starboard side as it always has, leaving The Exchange awkwardly squeezed in the middle, with no windows of its own. On Azura the casino is in the middle, up against the single cabins, and the bar (forgotten the name) runs down the starboard side. The Azura arrangement seems more sensible.

According to casino management they will lose maybe 3 tables in the refurb which still leaves the Exchange as a much smaller bar. Things will get crowded in the casino as well with 4 tables rather than 7. I think they will need to drop either Ocean poker or face up blackjack if they intend to keep the Texas hold em table.

What they should do with Azura is rip out that redundant cinema screen and install a roof for the pool. Venturas proved invaluable in colder weather and the tables around the pool were well used as a overflow from the buffet.

why the deviation to other things.. the question was simple do they have a paid for adults section like the sanctuary on Princess.

I can understand some people have stated no and thank heavens but there are some who would like the odd day of peace and quiet yes I know I would have to pay for it but the deckchair hogs sometimes make this a point of necessity, I for one dont want to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed with no shade everyday

Sorry i am deviating again......but I dont understand the changes to the exchange. We like the open feel of this and to put in a few single cabins and reduce this area to just an internal bar area is madness. At least on Azura where they have done this the casino is very small but if they keep the same size of casino on Ventura then this will cease to be a venue as it will be tiny.

sorry to continue deviating but...

the single cabins are there to increase revenue from cabin sales.

some bean counter will have calculated that they will have more revenue from cabins than profits from the bar!.

the casino will be somewhat smaller but has to cater for the high demand times when they rake in the money. In essence the exchange will just be the casino bar which might be a good thing if the karaoke dissappears:D

On the other hand they have lost a lot of seats and Ventura does not have that many.
