Is Everything Going to be Closed on Sunday?

We will be in St. Maarten on Sunday (Mother's Day) and are wondering if things are going to be open. Also, will we be able to get one of the Cabs that can take us on a tour of the Island? (Joyce Prince is already booked - DRAT!) Does anyone have any recommendations on another tour guide, or just go with the cabs outside the pier. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't think that Hallmark has yet been able to convince Island Government that Mother's Day should be an island holiday. The shops at the pier will certainly be open, as well as many others on the island. The more ships in on that day, the more shops will be open.

 

There will be plenty of taxis available to accomodate as many people as come off the ships, no matter what, both for tours and for point-to-point trips.

LOL! I didn't think that the shops would be closed because it's Mother's Day -- I guess I worded it poorly. My main concern is that we are in port on Sunday. Thanks for your response. We're looking forward to seeing St. Maarten!
