Nliedel Posted May 8, 2005 #26 Share Posted May 8, 2005 I sailed the Golden a couple years ago. I loved her.
jcruise67 Posted May 8, 2005 Author #27 Share Posted May 8, 2005 Dennis,The nearest thing I can equate to your query is that last year on the Jewel of the Seas (RCCL) we docked in Southampton at 7.am and we was off by 8.30am so I am pretty confident that you would be off by that time as well. Disembarkation is determined by early flights and excursions offered the day of disembarkation. However, if you desire to disembark early for other reasons, such as a post cruise stay or to catch up with others traveling in your party who have earlier flights, just request an early departure from the purser's desk one or two nights prior to docking in port. They will usually accommodate you and provide you with the color coded tags that permit you to disembark early. You will be provided with instructions to place your luggage outside your cabin by midnight the evening prior to disembarkation. Your room steward will insure that your luggage makes it to the port area for pick-up upon departing the ship. TIP: Upon departing the ship and retrieving your luggage in the port terminal, request a porter to assist you with your luggage. They will ask you for your declaration forms and take you directly to the customs agents posted in the terminal. This process is usually quick and simple, and you will be outside the terminal in no time picking up your transportation or transfer. It is wise to use the taxi service to expedite your travel time.
