Cruisin'Ferret Posted April 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2012 I see Carnival has a Zip Line excursion for this Port ... Does anyone have any reviews/comments on this? Thanks.
MyTempered Posted April 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2012 I think it's fairly new. It originally wasn't there when we planned our excursions for a cruise this June. Now it's there, but it's full! We're all quite disappointed. :-(
lifesabeach123 Posted April 22, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2012 Canopy Cumayasa also known as Cumayasa Sky Adventure. I think it was opened summer 2011. It's part of Rancho Cumayasa (they also do catamaran trips to Catalina island, river tours, horseback riding, buggies etc). They are based on the beautiful Cumayasa river about 25 minutes west of La Romana Port. There isn't much English info on them yet. Here are some links in Spanish... http://canopycumayasa.tumblr.com/ http://cumayasa.tumblr.com/ http://casadecampoliving.com/2011/07/inauguration-of-canopy-cumaysa-sunday-july-3rd/ (in English from Casa de Campo's homeowners magazine)

nur01 Posted May 5, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 5, 2012 We just returned from Carnival Cruise. We didn't know what to do in Dominican Republic. The cruise highly suggested to book an excursion at this port. There is nothing to do right off the ship. On board, we saw the zipling excursion and booked it. It was 104.00 per person. It was approx 30 min bus ride. The staff was excellent. The trails was all together about a mile. The tour ended at the rivers edge with cold drinks and snacks. I had a wonderful time. It was my first zipling experience.
mykebob Posted May 14, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2012 I was excited to go on this cruise, but there is no space for the new one. I miss it. I had gone on many cruise trips, but it would be very new experience for me, if I could get on it.
scielerep Posted June 23, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 23, 2012 I'll be there on the 7-28 cruise leaving Ft Lauderdale. I hope it doesn't get booked up -- I'm not ready to commit to it just yet.
kim300 Posted June 25, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 25, 2012 My mom and I would like to do this zipline course on our upcoming cruise. We have only ziplined one other time, but really enjoyed it. For our previous ziplining experience, my mom was given a chest harness in addition to (maybe in place of?) the regular harness that everyone else used. Does anyone know if this is available at the La Romana zipline? She is hesitant to go ziplining without the additional harness. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks! scielerep Posted July 1, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 1, 2012 I didn't know chest harnesses were available -- I hope they are for the LR zip line.
kim300 Posted July 5, 2012 #10 Share Posted July 5, 2012 After several attempts to contact Carnival to get information about the chest harnesses, I e-mailed Rancho Cumayasa directly. They quickly responded to my e-mail. There ARE chest harnesses available on the zipline course.

CruiseChick2003 Posted July 7, 2012 #12 Share Posted July 7, 2012 I'm sailing on Carnival Breeze in March 2013 and am adding this to the list of possabilities....it looks like fun! I'm not a huge fan of heights, but I think I might be able to do this since I am safely strapped in :P Looking forward to what you all have to say as you try it! :)
izzydog Posted January 13, 2013 #13 Share Posted January 13, 2013 Any new info on the zip lining?
Scrap'n Grandma Posted January 14, 2013 #14 Share Posted January 14, 2013 I really wanted to do this, but in the description it says no heart problems. I did have valve surgery las year and my cardiologist didn't think it would be a good idea :(. I guess I will find something else to do.
