Question about hyphenated last name and category VGT

We just booked our very first Disney cruise! Yay!! I have a hyphenated last name on my passport and driver's liscense. Wen booking throught the agent they said disney will not acept the hyphen in paperwork. Sthe agent contacted disney and let them know, they ok'd it. Has anyone dealt with this before? Is it going to be a potential problem? We also booked a guarantee balcony. Anyone done this and if so how did it turn out for you? We are booked on the Fantasy for end of June. Thanks in advance!

Can't answer for the cruise line, but I know that several airlines deal with hyphenated names by simply combining them into one word; e.g., Smith-Jones becomes Smithjones.

 

I haven't done it personally, but my daughter booked a GTY verandah stateroom and ended up with a HUGE handicapped-accessible room (although they didn't need a H/C room) on the 8th deck of Dream, all the way at the aft end of the ship. The room also had a very large verandah that wrapped around the starboard aft corner of the ship. Apparently this stateroom was not needed for any disabled passengers on that particular cruise and was thus used to fill one of the GTY reservations.

I hyphenate my last name and just run both together without the hyphen on airlines and cruises. Never had a problem.
