EdmPair Posted May 5, 2012 #26 Share Posted May 5, 2012 smeyer418 sure has good info to share. thanks. I work in security and would like to share a different angle on this. If you must destroy the mechanisms used to make the copies, the act of photocopies is a problem too. MOST but not all copiers scan to a hard drive and print from there. To allow for stuff like collating, these scans are kept. And kept. And kept. It is simplest for the HD to fill up before overwriting an old scan. Thats right. Your colour copy of your passport stays on that machine until it is retired and destroyed. Unless it is sold off like the 3 ABC news bought a few years ago. They pulled the HD and found all kinds of stuff. Medical records, evidence to get search warrants ... stuff like that. Use your own scanner or that of a friend. I vote for B&W too. simplelife Posted May 19, 2012 #27 Share Posted May 19, 2012 If you do not have a color copier/printer at home, You can go somewhere that has self-service copiers such as Office Max and make color copies (of anything).
