Good Morning Breezers! FINALLY, some relief from the heat. I didn't even mind taking Vasher outside 18 gazillion times this morning in the rain.......ok maybe I did a little :o. This cold front has stalled so we're getting more rain than they thought but it means it'll be cooler today too.

 

Ugh, I hate this time of year. I think my next day off is Labor Day. I think we need another holiday in early August :o

 

Evening Chris! Hope your day was good! The rain is moving in SC as we speak, so hopefully it will help lower the tempreture. Yep, a holiday in August would be nice, but regrettably we have to wait until September!:(

Hiya funatics!! Wow today just went by like lightning and I've been running since my eyes opened:eek: but it was for the best reason as everybody came over and we had a big family day before everybody heads home tomorrow and Tuesday:(

 

Getting back to work after 5 days off ain't gonna be a thrill either LOL!!

 

I will catch up more tomorrow when things settle back here!!

We had bbq pork chops and corn on the cob on the grill and I sauteed some fresh spinach

 

Spent a lot of time in the pool yesterday---now it's back to laundry and housework.

We had almost the same dinner here tonite, but rice pilaf replaced the spinach. 3 out of 5 of us love spinach so we have it from time to time.

Eva, I know it's been a while but what's the status of the La Romana excursion? Not sure when we need to pay for it and if we have enough people for it or not.

 

Linny, I understand your frustration. As a non-smoker (and someone who is really bothered by smoke), I like the changes. I however do think that there should be a side or section of the boat for you smokers. There was on the Liberty and I just avoided that side like the plague and it was fine. Same thing on the Pride but as it's not as open, it was much more noticeable.

Glad it cooled down for you...that was a long stretch of bad heat you had down there. We got less humid yesterday and temps were only in the 80's today....MUCH better!

 

Yeah the smoking thing is a bummer. Since the aft Lido is open (like Pride), it would be a good spot to give a little section to smokers...lots of ventilation. But there's no fighting City Hall, or Carnival, apparently:rolleyes:

Evening, friends! Well we got Monday done! I had a bit of a crazy day...one of those where you're waiting for everyone to get back to you and twiddling your thumbs, and then all of a sudden everything opens up at once. Not my favorite kind of day. Time to kick back and relax:)

Life and work has been crazy.

 

Work has been changes like crazy. My boss gets promoted to director in another department, my teammate becomes my new manager, my first boss becomes my new director. What does this mean for me? More work. We work in which is arguably the toughest region in the country (southeast) lots of litigation. I am now the top guy on the totem pole, which means I get the most contentious cases. The promotion isn't there yet but looks really good once the red tape clears. I get the toughest cases from my new boss, I pass down. Having just gotten back from vacation, I'm still playing catch up, not the best time for this all to be happening, but so goes my job. Place on that, I am on vacation again in a little over a month.

 

To top all of this off, my sister is having a really tough time with my niece who is 13 and 1300 miles away. So the excitement of our cruise next month is muted and is questionable whether my niece will be able to come on the cruise because she is now in a residential psychiatric facility for troubled kids. I love my niece to death, but what she has done is so unbelievable and so hurtful to my sister that I just hope she can come out of all this. My sister just can't wrap her head around all this and can't say I can blame her. My sister is of the opinion that there is just no way that she is coming on this cruise. Of course, we did not get insurance. What did my niece do you ask? Broke into my sister's lockbox and stole somewhere in the neighborhood of $1k of which she was saving her tips from hairdressing for spending money for the trip. The money is supposedly all gone and my niece will not say where it went.

Oh Al, that's awful!! I'm so sorry for the troubles... teenagers are rough, and it's scary to think of all the things that can influence them in the wrong ways! I hope both your niece and your sister (and you!) can come out of this OK.
