Recommended Posts

We live in Florida and want to get married in St Petersburg Russia. We keep hearing horror stories. May 2013

Any one planning or have gotten married in Europe? Please share advice and your experiences.

Thanks!

Not quite your neck of the woods, but I'm planning on Greece summer 2013 :)

We are contacting the cruise line today. I hope it is easier than I think it will be!

OP - If you are a US citizen, as I already posted on your other thread, you are just not going to be able to be married in Russia on a cruise stop. It is not easy; it's quite difficult. The entire process can take at least two months, and you must wait 32 days from the day you file you paperwork at the Civil Registry Office. The bureaucracy in Russia is incredible, that's why you see so many horror stories. Suggest you get legally married in the US first, and then plan a symbolic ceremony wherever you like.
