Need help with customer service coupon

I received the following loyalty coupon from X. The staff at Celebrity keep saying that the coupon cannot be used with a group booking. I am reading this differently. Could I please get comments as to whether you believe this coupon is valid for group bookings. Don't worry about the sale dates.

The part I am questioning is:

 

"This offer is valid with affinity and promotional non contracted groups. Yes, this offer can be transferred into a group booking."

Offer is applicable to all Captain’s Club members. At the time of the booking guests should provide a valid loyalty identification number. Only one guest per stateroom is required to be a loyalty member.

well, I'm just a lawyer, but I'd be curious as to what their rationale could be for saying it doesn't apply to groups could be when it clearly says ....

Seriously? It s in plan English! Celebrity needs to think about good will and do what is right for you oe they will lose a loyal cruiser. Maybe the need customer service lessons from their sister company RCI. this is disgraceful!

You say disregard the dates:confused: Maybe the coupon is no longer valid. Do you have one with current dates? Just wondering.

 

The dates do not matter because of my specific situation. It took me over 6 weeks to get a copy of this coupon. I have been told by at least 1/2 dozen people in the group dept., loyalty dept. and several Executive Guest Specialists that this cannot be used with groups. IMHO this is wrong. Although there may be specific exclusions as with a GRPX rate the blanket statement that this cannot be combined with groups is wrong.

 

In the course of these conversation I was deliberately hung up by a supervisor in the loyalty dept. I am still waiting for an apology from her supervisor after writing the Adam Goldstein on several occasions.

 

I have made numerous suggestions to the specialist to improve their customer service but at this point to no avail. I am continuing to pursue this.

 

I hope to post my full experiences shortly. In any event for anyone who is using a coupon I suggest that you obtain a copy.
