NCL - Bermuda only cruise

Recommended Posts

We are considering doing the new Breakaway next May, 2013 and it appears the cruise only goes to Bermuda and it docks for 3 days. Has anyone done that type of cruise before and could you please let me know if there is entertainment on the ship those evenings that you are docked in Bermuda? Any input would be GREAT!!!

There are definitely shows going on, the biggest change is that the casino and on-board shops will be closed those days.

I enjoyed being docked at the same place, you could come and go as you pleased, and Bermuda is so nice to just walk around and explore. Hubby was definitely not thrilled about the casino being closed, but I warned him before hand ;).

Yes, there is entertainment on all nights. The cruise itself is exactly the same as regular cruise, only imagine three straight port days... and the ship stays docked for the entire time. You are free to come and go as you please throughout the night, the entire time that you are docked in Bermuda. As for as the the entertainment and food and all that is concerned however, it is identical to a normal cruise with 3 different ports in 3 days.

I thought I read somewhere that the Bermuda cruises when in port multiple days, takes off at night doing circles and docks again in the am. I thought that the person saying that, maybe their head was doing circles!!! LOL Is it true or no?

It was their head. The ships stays docked the whole time.

To OP... I have cruised to Bermuda three times already and doing number 4 this summer. You will have a great time. You get two vacations in one; cruise and hotel stay. Bermuda is a very nice island and easy to get around. Best part is not having to worry about getting back to the ship at a certain time. It really lets you explore the island.

You will have the best time, this will be my second time to Bermuda via NCL. I love the fact that I do not have to fly, but being in Bermuda for 3 days is the best. You can explore and plan more than most islands as you have the time. You will never do it all in one trip but it is fun trying. The casino is closed but you have plenty of nightlife to choose from both on the ship and the island if you care to venture out. I say do it.!!!:)

I think that was someone's suggestion on how they could keep the casino open while in Bermuda. No ship actually does that.

I just returned from Star's first cruise to Bermuda. The three days in port was very restful - - people did not feel the need to charge down the gangway the minute the ship arrived. There was entertainment each night on the ship - - shows in the theater, theme parties, etc. The casino and the shops were closed.

Also, there is entertainment in the Royal Dockyard area, which is a nice historic area, where the ship berths. There was a fellow called Tony B who was playing at the Frog and Onion Pub in the Dockyard who was quite entertaining when we were there.

We did it on the Explorer of the Seas. We had a good time and it was nice to have the ship docked in the same spot for more than just a few hours. The casino and shops will be closed while in dock (no big loss) and you'll get to explore Bermuda and return to your floating hotel for meals.
