vc562894 Posted May 6, 2012 #26 Share Posted May 6, 2012 More photo's from the Mountain Top lookout area. We went on an 11 night Med cruise on the Disney Magic, and we were surprised to see it from the lookout. My husband wanted to sneak onboard. We then went back down the mountain and was dropped off in town for some shopping. I loved the little alleyways that had the shops. ***** Random question, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your dress, where did you get it!?

TaraLynne Posted May 7, 2012 #31 Share Posted May 7, 2012 Great review! Just the right amount of words and pictures :) question...you mentioned that the smoking/smoke was really bad on the ship...I thought Carnival didn't allow smoking in most places anymore? I know that when we were on the Dream in 2010 you definitely couldn't smoke in the bars anymore, and only on certain outside decks (don't remember about the casino)...and I thought they'd cut down on the smoking areas even more in recent months? There were people smoking in the Punchline when we were in there watching the comedian. I had to move. People were smoking at tables in all outdoor areas. In every chair we laid in on deck the people next to us were smoking. The casino was full of smoke. Maybe we just had a lot of people on this cruise that smoked. We never could get away from it. hygienist999 Posted May 7, 2012 Author #33 Share Posted May 7, 2012 A few more photo's of the rainforest. I would highly recommend visiting the Rainforest. After leaving the Rainforest we headed back to San Juan. Our next stop was a fort. We loved it also. Here are a few photo's from there as well. hygienist999 Posted May 7, 2012 Author #34 Share Posted May 7, 2012 The views at the fort were gorgeous. We had about an hour here. You really need about 2 to 3 hours. The bus driver left us downtown so we could shop. We walked around a bit, before heading back to the ship. Once we got back on the ship, we watched as we sailed away. momonthego17 Posted May 7, 2012 #39 Share Posted May 7, 2012 Great review! We will be on Liberty this Thanksgiving, so I'm hanging on every word and pic. What time were you going out to get chairs for sunning? On Miracle, we were out around 9-ish. Your dresses are lovely and so are you! Thanks for writing your review! hygienist999 Posted May 7, 2012 Author #40 Share Posted May 7, 2012 Thanks for all the positives on my review. My mother talked me into purchasing the dress I wore at St. Thomas, and my husband really liked it. So while we were in St. Thomas I bought two more. They are very comfortable and very cruisey. We had three sea days, so on the first one we slept a bit late and didn't try to find a chair til around 10:30. But the other two sea days we were out looking before 10. The problem wasn't the number of chairs, it was the number of chairs that had towels in them and no people. That was what was so frustrating. Some chairs across from us were empty over two hours. I can see saving your chairs to run to the bathroom, grab something to eat or drink, but to be gone for hours. That is too much. But, I do think this varies cruise from cruise. You may not have any problems at all.
b_cruise Posted May 7, 2012 #41 Share Posted May 7, 2012 Question for you or any one else who may know. Printed off boarding passes today for July liberty out of Miami with board time of noon. Now to avoid these lines should we be there earlier like ten or later like three? Or is there no way around this? Thanks for the review!!
hygienist999 Posted May 7, 2012 Author #42 Share Posted May 7, 2012 We arrived around noon. I'm not sure what the best answer would be. I would rather get there earlier than I had later. Maybe someone who has arrived around 3 will answer.

We normally get to port between 10-11am and are on board before noon. I'd personally rather get there early and get on the ship to have lunch. Yum! Now to avoid these lines should we be there earlier like ten or later like three? Or is there no way around this? Thanks for the review!! From my experience and from what I've read on these boards, I think that the best thing to do is get there before 11 AM *or* after 1/1:30 PM. It appears that with flights coming in and whatnot the busiest time to try to board is between 11/11:30 and 1 :)
Rare crewsweeper Posted May 7, 2012 #50 Share Posted May 7, 2012 Hygentist, thanks for sharing your cruise and pictures. A very nice reivew at that. Glad to see someone started a review of this cruise. I'm still struggling to get pictures orangized. We missed the two of you on the Roll Call:(. But I think I saw your Hubby around on deck a few times, looked familiar. Great review! Just the right amount of words and pictures :) question...you mentioned that the smoking/smoke was really bad on the ship...I thought Carnival didn't allow smoking in most places anymore? I wil agree that the casino was very smoky. No cross ventilation to clear it out and it would drift up into the mid ship stairway. Plus you practically had to go through the casino to get fore to aft on the Promenade deck. Outside there was smoking on the Panorama deck port side. But I never noticed any on the starboard side. I didn't notice smoking on the Lido mid ship pool around the Blue Iguana and Red Frog though. I didn't smell smoke in PunchLiners at the 3 shows I attended. Serenity deck didn't open until after mid day the second day at sea, so this increased the shortage of chairs. People hoping to save chairs up on the Panorama deck above the Lido, while getting breakfast , or more sleep, were losing their towels and belonging to the wind.
