St. Thomas, St. Maartin and Nassau...correct?? First, I want to say that the Allure is AMAZING..You are going to have an incredible time.

Nassau....I am going to let others give their opinion. Not my favorite...have been there too many times and never really impressed, but there are things to do there. Would rather stay on the ship next time.

St. Thomas...yes amazing shopping....The two beaches we love are Megans Bay and Sapphire Beach. All beaches are reachable by taxi or shuttle bus at the end of the port.

The skyride is also amazing. Walkable from port. Tickets about $18. Cable cars take you to the top of St. Thomas....restaurant, bar, shops....but the best is the view and the most incredible pictures you will ever take..They have a specialty drink (cannot remember the name that is mmmmm so good).

St. Maartin....MY FAVORITE ...Too much to do. Can go back a gazillion times and never get sick of it.

If you go to "you tube" MAHO BEACH...you will see videos of planes landing....YOU HAVE TO SEE...SO PLEASE WATCH...you will be amazed. Good bars and restaurants and beach.

Also...Orient Beach...very large..clean...amazing.

You will be docking right next to a beach where so much action is if you do not want to get in a cab and go to the French side...(about 1/2 hour away).

Hundreds of stores, restaurants, bars, right in port.

On St. Maarten, I recommend Bernard (www.bernardstours.com) for a comprehensive tour of the island, time on Orient Beach, time in Marigot for shopping and pastries, time at Maho Beach for the humbo jets, and then a drop off either at the ship or in Phillipsburg for more beach/shopping. The ship is in walking distance of Phillipsburg on a nice pedestrian walkaway, or you can take the water taxi back. For $40pp, this is well worth it, and hits most of the highlights of the island.

In Nassau, I've done a glass bottom boat tour around the harbor which was ok. You can take a cab to Cable Beach and rent jetskis there, beautiful beach. If you want a water park, definitely check out Atlantis. You can usually get a day pass there and it is AMAZING! We were there most of the day and still didn't get to see everything. A must if you have kids of any age. It was a great, relaxing day and you can check out the entire resort, go to the casino and look at the aquariums. Kinda pricey, though. But I think well worth it! You can do the straw market in Nassau, but that can get crazy and annoying and hot! They will bug you to death to purchase. There is a great restautrant in town called Cafe Matisse that is excellent. Have fun!

I agree with Susie! Nassau is our least favorite and will definitely stay on the boat if we ever go back. However, if it's your 1st time there, definitely find something fun to do. Atlantis is great for 1st timers. Once you've been, it's kind of a "been there, done that" thing. Also, unless you just love being fought over, stay away from the Straw Market. They would just about do anything to get you to buy something. (You can talk them down though--never pay what they are asking).

St. Thomas & St. Martin----our 2 favorites!! We did an ATV tour in St. Martin. It was fabulous! You have to know us--we are not ATV people at all, but it was the best excursion we've taken so far--anywhere.

On St. Maarten, I highly recommend the America's Cup Regatta excursion. The website is here: http://www.12metre.com/

Lots of fun. No experience necessary. You do as much/little work as you want. I've done it three times and never tire of it. I'm 60 and have no trouble doing the task assigned.

My husband and I are signed up for this in 2 weeks. Glad to hear you enjoyed it several times. We are 60 yr olds too and looking forward to it.

We will most likey do this again. I would like more time at Maho, but we go at the beginning of the slow season so 2-3 hours is probably enough.

I would rather go on the chew razor blades excursion than ever go in that straw market. I'll admit to cheering for the fire when it went up. Not great if your claustrophobic. - Last year it was our 30th anniversary and we stayed on the ship, don't think I can get away with that next year. Any improvement to this place?
