SadieN Posted May 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2012 Tripadvisor City Guides is an app that lets you download (at home or thru wifi) and read off line travel guides for Rome and other cities.
calliopecruiser Posted May 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2012 I would highly recommend a PDF Reader and a web page capture app - Evernote will work, but I use simpler and smaller apps (PDF Reader and Offline Reader). That way you can load documents and web pages that you think you will want before you go, then read them offline while you're away. If any of the cities you're going to has a DK Top Ten app (Dorling Kindersley), I highly recommend it......they're about $5 and well worth it, IMO. I used it extensively when I was in Barcelona. If you do an app search for the cities you're traveling to, you'll likely find all manner of useful OFFLINE apps, especially for maps and transit.....useful if you're going to be ashore getting around on your own.
