ihopfar Posted May 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2012 Spending a few days in Vancouver post-cruise. I found some Vancouver self-guided walking tours on-line. One of them is for Gastown and Chinatown. I was very surprised when it suggested that everything closed down after 6PM in Chinatown (except on Summer weekends when their is a festival) so to do the walking tour earlier. Is this true? I thougth later in the day would be perfect because then we could stop for dinner in Chinatown. I assume the restaurants stay open, but does it really turn into a ghost town? Thanks, Brad
Putterdude Posted May 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2012 Yes much of Chinatown will be closed in the evening .... except for restaurants. Another caution would be that the area between Gastown and Chinatown is rather unsavory and while I would not be concerned for your personal safety....it's not pretty, a lot of drugs, drunks and all the other things that go with that.
