Merriem Posted May 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2012 I have a reservation that was made with a TA and we did not like her. It was transferred back to me. Can I transfer it to a my regular agent at this point or not?
biker1972 Posted May 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2012 If you are in control of the booking, you can transfer without a problem. It sounds like you got a release from the first TA so you are golden. Had you not gotten the release then you would not be able to make the transfer. That is the deal the cruise lines have with TA's so that poaching does not take place.

cruzingduo Posted May 19, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 19, 2012 I believe you have 60 days from the original booking date to transfer a reservation to a TA. As for an extra benefit, that depends on the agent.

Merriem Posted May 19, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted May 19, 2012 It wasn't 60 days ago, less than that. I sent him an email and will see what he says. Thanks for the info.

I don't think you can transfer a booking that is within final payment and has been paid in full.

That is also correct, but it's amazing what some agents can do. Costs nothing to try.
