Can anyone help?

We are due to sail from Newcastle on 29th May. We booked through our local Thomson TA.

12th May e-mail received from Customer Services informing us our tickets were being sent to our TA.

14th May phoned TA - tickets not arrived. Call in tomorrow.

15th May visited TA - tickets not in post office delivery or currier delivery. Given an "Amendment Confirmation" printout ot our booking.

20th May phoned TA - Customer Services were sending TA tickets & we should call in & collect on 21st.

21st May phoned TA before leaving to check tickets had arrived. They had not. Customer Services were sending tickets again to TA & they will phone us on arrival.

wow what a pickle.:confused::(:rolleyes:

Can anyone who has received tickets through a TA (or e-tickets if booked online) for a Newcatle sailing advise us as to what vital documents we need for embarkation. We have booked parking, do they give you something for your car or to hand in?

Is there anything else vital we should do other than not committing a criminal act in our local TA?

Thomson ticketing has been a shambles for years. There are repeated reports of tickets not arriving causing stress to customers. Thomson HQ seem not to care and IMO there is something fundamentaly wrong with their mangement procedures.

Back to your problem.

Apparently if you don't get your tickets you will be allowed on the ship if you have proof of booking and final payment. Keep hounding your TA and make sure Thomson HQ are told you will be arriving without a ticket if that is neccessary. Get it done in writing as they will deny getting your call.

Hi Len

We have received E-tickets - Travel Document which gives details of passenger details, travel summary, itinerary, contact details getting to the port, passport visas and baggage, contact information, health & safety, packing, money matters, keeping in touch , medical assistance, conditions of contract and a voucher for the parking pass.to be displayed in the windscreen. Have had them e-mailed twice. Its 7 pages including the parking pass

Do Thomsons still issued ticket booklets or would they have e-mailed them to the TA? We did RCI last year and tickets were emailed to TA and posted to us. I booked over the phone with Thomsons once I had the details on line.

Hope this helps if you need any more info please ask

Hi Len

We booked our cruise with the local TA (the one you get a dividend from!) and picked up our tickets on Friday for the Spirit's June 18th sailing. The 'tickets' are actually an E-ticket emailed to the TA and printed off by TA - it's exactly the same as the one Sue had emailed to her by the look of it.

There's a parking pass with our reference number and name on it which has to be displayed on the car windscreen.

Not nearly as exciting or interesting as the ticket booklets Thomson's used to have :(

Mmm!

I am on the 18th June sailing and have heard nothing from my Thomson TA. Not worried yet though as the tickets usually arrive about 3 weeks from the cruise.

Thank you Sue & everyone for your help.

22nd May we called in at TA after being called on 21st. Given an E-Ticket (printed in front of us) with no sign of a parking pass in our 8 page document. There were no directions, money matters or keeping in touch info.

22nd May e-mailed TA with details of what other people on this forum have had.

I think Customer Services have sent our TA a cobbled together E-ticket a hybrid uk cruise / flight cruise. We are still concerned about parking.

Does anyone know if there would be Thomsons staff at the port to whom we could talk if there is a problem getting parked?

Many thanks everyone

Len:confused::mad::rolleyes::(

Thanks everyone,

22nd May - we have been told in writing by Thomsons TA, after consulting Thomsons cruise department, to take our e-ticket (with no car voucher) and quote our booking reference number. The barrier will then be raised and we are allowed to proceed to park.

Fingers crossed.

Hi Len, We've parked at Newcastle twice now, parking couldn't be easier. There are stewards everywhere to direct you, we even arrived one time without parking tickets, there's a marquee to give you the necessary in screen tickets, they have a manifesto of the passengers...... it really is no hassle....they firstly direct you to a queue where an army of luggage handlers unload you bags and then you follow the stewards set out like they are there for a cycle race and you are duly guided into a secure spot, you then hop on a shuttle bus to the terminal. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Thanks for that. We're going from Newcastle for first time on 18th June and hadn't a clue what to do about the parking.:confused:

We havn't got luggage labels so do they still give you an envelpe with your cabin number luggage stickers to put on you suitcases. What time has anyone arrived/will be arriving?

last time I cruised on Spirit from Newcastle they had a tent near the terminal where you collected your luggage labels. Put them on your cases and leave them in the collection area. Spirit was delayed by fog so we did not board until mid afternoon:eek: everyone got onboard credit:D

I will be arriving 12ish as I would rather be early than late.
