basser Posted May 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2012 We will be in Belize in early December and would like to take an excursion into the jungle to see wildlife that isn't captive. Does anyone know of such an excursion? Also is there any place to snorkle from shore?

Does anyone know of such an excursion? Also is there any place to snorkle from shore? I am not aware of any place that is available in Belize City to snorkel from the shore. Your best bet would be to get to one of the Cays & snorkel from that shore. For a real snorkel trip, our recommendation would be to look up the web site for Coral Breeze Tours & take their snorkel trip which includes a local lunch on Caye caulker. Their site has all of their info. Enjoy Belize. Bill in FL

Does anyone know of such an excursion? Also is there any place to snorkle from shore? One caveat re: wildlife.... If you are approached by kids/teens with wildlife and they ask if you want to have your picture taken holding said wildlife... say no. Reason #1: Wild animals are wild; they scratch and bite. Reason #2: They may run off with your camera and leave you holding a wild animal. See Reason #1.

basser Posted May 23, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted May 23, 2012 Thanks for the tips. Is the coral breeze trip a boat out to the reef?
marshhawk Posted May 23, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 23, 2012 Belize has no beach, because of the excellent coral reef, third largest in the world. No big waves, no waves no sand, no sand no beach. If you are looking for animals for pictures, think River Wallace and Altun Ha, howler monkeys, crocodiles, manatees, all are possible to see on the river. Boas, at the ruins. Will in sunny FL Posted May 24, 2012 #7 Share Posted May 24, 2012 Thanks for the tips. Is the coral breeze trip a boat out to the reef? Yes, Coral Breeze Tours does many land tours & the one that we love & do with them twice a year involves a boat ride to the reef for snorkeling & also playing with the Rays & Nurse Sharks ETC & then a visit to Caye Caulker for lunch. We were with them to snorkel most recently on 5/02/2012 Go to their site where you will find ALL of this info in detail. Bill in FL
