Whast wrong with this picture ncl casino story

Well Were back from our NCL Pearl Alaska Cruise and What I'm Disappointed in BESIDES NOT WINNING IS:

We Played Everyday for Hours and Hours....What bothered me was that my points on the tables werent going up much each day.....I even introduced myself to the Casino Host/Pit Boss and Diff Supervisors,etc.....

They Explained that the Table Points worked by betting a Minumum of $25.00 per hand and you'd get 200 points per hour.....I Bet $25.00 a hand AT MINUMUM with MY AVG BETS being more like $50 plus....WHICH THEY VERIFIED....

So the 200 points per hour should of been No Problem....Well each day when I asked him or her whats going on they always had the same answer.....They'll LOOK INTO IT AND FIX IT....NOPE NADDA.....Last Night I only had 1350 points.....Played on the Let It Ride and 3 Card Poker for over 5 Hours Straight with $50 bets.....On Sunday when I checked my points again It had only jumped up to 1575....WHAT WHAT WHAT.........SO 5 HOURS OF STRAIGHT PLAYING WITH $50 MINIMUM ONLY GOT ME 225 MORE POINTS.........

It was Sad Enough Not getting any Good Hands(Barely) Did hit 3 of a kind on 3 card poker but At Least getting the Proper Points would of helped take the sting out....lol.....

Just on the Amount Of Hours I played which Was Easily Over 25 Hours at the Tables I should of had a Minimum of 4500 Points PLUS All the $1.00 Slots and $1.00 Video Poker I Played which was also in the Many Hours and Mucho $$$$...

Should of had EASILY 6000 PLUS POINTS by Weeks End........

Something just isnt right with this picture and the way they calculated the points.....ALSO THE "WE'LL LOOK INTO IN AND FIX IT OVER AND OVER WITH "NO" RESULTS PUT A BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH FOR FUTURE NCL CRUISES".....

At Least with Princess I know that on each Cruise they keep a REALLY GOOD TALLY of ALL YOUR PLAY AND BETS and We get COLD HARD $$CASH$$ BACK EACH CRUISE.....

A DISGRUNTLED NCL GAMBLER....And Its Not Just From Losing.

Sorry to hear that :-(

As much as I love RCCL, we had a similar experience on the Explorer in December. In 12 nights, I am SURE I played letitride/3card for 40 hours. Got nothing.

Going again this December and I am going to make sure they know I am there, betting like you just did. If there are absolutely no rewards again, I'll take your advice and try Princess.

Sorry to hear about your experience, but I'm not surprised. The only sure way to get accurate points based on play is on the slots, where a computer does the calculations. As you well know, the table games require that your play be evaluated by the pit boss, who can be good, bad, or indifferent, and busy or lazy or whatever.

You did your best by trying to make yourself known with the casino staff, and frankly, I would suggest you should have escalated your concerns to the casino manager. Unfortunately, I suspect you simply won't find the experience level with the staff on cruise ship casinos that you will on land casinos.

That is unfortunate what happened to you in the casino, and it's too bad you did not just move to the slots as VideoTech noted where the machines monitor play and calculate points.

Since you mentioned Princess thought I would share my casino experiences with Princess having sailed with them 6 times. After having injected large amounts of $$$$ into slots on all my Princess cruises, aside from being comped a dinner here and there and some small gifts I finally got an offer for $2200 in free play a few months after my sailing on the Ruby which was for a casino sponsored cruise on the Ruby and the same itineray I had just done. It just so happened we were already booked that same week on the Sapphire to Alaska which would have been my 3rd Princess cruise within a year. I decided to call and ask if the free play could be transfered to the Alaska cruise and the response I got was a resounding NO!!! Needless to say my Princess cruise to Alaska was my last with Princess!!

With my first NCL cruise on the Star this past March with my slot play I was comped several dinners, received wine and chocolates delivered to my cabin, and $600 was taken off my onboard account, and a couple of $100 off my husband's on my play. A month ago I called CAS about a 2013 Breakaway cruise to Bermuda I was interested in and received a full comp spa minisuite which is roughly out-of-pocket a $4000 cruise. BTW, I played about the same amount of $$$ on this cruise as I did on my previous cruises with Princess.

I guess we all live and learn by our casino experiences, and if I too had the same experience as you did with NCL I would move on too but it would not be with Princess.

Well I talked with CAS Today...Funny thing is when I finally spoke with someone who knew what they were doing things came out Somewhat OK....

They were still Showing Approx $4,000 Incorrect in Losses between the 3 of us BUT with just looking at what they had Inputed Correctly We'll get A)-Either A Comped Inside Room on our next cruise which We can pay the difference and have Upgraded....B)-A Great Discounted Casino Rate....These All Depend on what cruise We book.....C-We'll All Still Get the Free Casino Drink Cards Again....(THIS ALONE SAVES US LOTS OF MONEY)

I still have to talk with another Supervisor who will try and work everything out 100% and and figure the $4,000 in Losses they didnt have down....

The guy I spoke with was Explaining How they do Therorectics on your Win/Loss In/Out Ratios......

I understood what He was saying but long and short of it the Pit Boss/Supervisors Onboard didnt Calculate Things 100% Correctly.....

At Least now I Feel Slightly Better than I had....:D

They should also give you OBC that you should have received at end of cruise, or make sure your points are transferred on your next cruise. Who did you speak with? How did they know how much you lost? Mine didn't show up until I received my 1099 that I requested. I really would like to know how they figure these things at the table. I have. A great B2B Coming in October that they gave me, one balcony comped and the second with a great discount. I just don't want to go through the hassle again though at the end of the cruise when I request a new one or see that I have only a few hundred points after going through a lot of money.

Are you willing to share how many points you earned on the Star? I am just trying to figure out what level of points was sufficient for a full comp in a mini-suite. I am usually between 7000-8000 points and have been offered anywhere from a OV to a balcony, but never any higher. I usually upgrade to a mini or penthouse.

We were just comped the spa mini suite(which I upgraded to S4 CY Villa 2 Br)on the Breakaway next year from our play on the Gem last week. Between myself and my husband we had just over 18,000 points.

  • 4 weeks later...

After some play on the 3 night Sky a few weeks ago, I called CAS and managed to get a comped aft PH on the Breakaway next year.

I have no idea how many points I earned - played BJ for 3 nights at a couple hundred/hand. I did manage to lose enough to pay outright for the free PH on the Breakaway, with $ to spare!

Looks like a few of us on this forum will be sailing on the Breakaway next year. We are on the 6/9/13 sailing anyone else ? I am looking so forward to sailing on this ship as it looks pretty spectacular :) Plus it will be so nice to be able to drive to a port instead of flying.

(thinking to myself about how the tables have turned)...

This will mark the FIRST time in all our sailings that we've not driven to a port! Living in Florida can spoil oneself!!

Oh Tom I do envy you living in the sunny state :) Hubby would love to move to Florida now, but I have a great Fed Gov nursing job in little Rhody and if I would to transfer down south I would loose about 20 grand a year due to a higher locality pay up north. At my "tender age of 55" is all about the pension now which is salary based.

Not to be too nosy - well really I am - what kind of money do you need to cycle through to get these types of comps, such as a mini-suite? I am talking slots and video poker mainly.

Sorry to hear the casino story. I was coming to this section to inquire about NCL discounts that are offered through Harrahs. I don't even know if we are allowed to talk about them. They are not a TA so I assumed ok. Has anyone ever received the discount and is it in addition to what ever your price is or off the list price. Thanks for any help on this. Also, do you use your total rewards players card on board? Thanks!!!
