Request for info about glow worm tour

Hi everyone,

We're going on the June 3rd Celebrity Summit cruise and we're lucky enough to be in port to see the glow worms. We'd like to go with the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute and were wondering if anyone who had gone on this tour previously could give some help.

When does the tour leave?

How long is the tour?

Do you think we could get the last bus back to the Dockyard (#8) at about 10:50pm? Or will we have to take a cab back?

Also is there an alternative way to see them that is near a bus route (#7 or #8) that we could try instead?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Did the tour a couple of years ago and loved it.

I think the tour left around 5:00 and we got back after dark, maybe 9:00?

One of the best places to see them other than the BUEI tour is under the bridge at Ferry Reach but I understand it gets crowded there. The BUEI has a "secret" place where they are able to tie up with an agreement with the owners. We were the only boat there and the only others were the owners who had walked down to their dock.

Did you check the BUEI's calender to see if they offer the excursion when you are there? The worms only come out 3 days after a full moon. The cost was $50 pp. and they had wine, water and soft drinks on the boat to buy. Just found the dates so it looks like you're good.

2012 DATES: June 6 & 7, July 5 & … 6, August 3 & 4, September 2 & 3, October 1 & 2

You could probably make the last ferry depending on the time you get back. BUEI could answer that if you email them. We were docked in Hamilton so we walked both ways, which is a "healthy" walk.
