bajathree Posted May 24, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2012 Would like to see this port. Easy stuff - anyone horse and buggy, trolley tour, Good Hope---any ideas? My honest opinion is that there isn't much to see in Falmouth itself outside the port. I have been to the Good Hope Estate for an excursion and would recommend that as it's nice and close. I believe there is one called Good Hope Estate at your leisure...basically dropping you and then you can return on a bus as you like...they go back and forth pretty frequently. The Good Hope Estate is pretty easy walking around and safe.....enjoy:)
elou Posted May 27, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted May 27, 2012 THANK YOU. Any one do the horse and buggy around the town? Is anything worth it or just walk around the port.
setsail Posted May 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2012 The town of Falmouth has a few old buildings, one a church from the 1700's that you can visit. The town is just your basic mixture of homes/business on narrow streets. Nothing fancy. The dock area is brand new, easy to walk around, a good place for cruisers who don't want to leave the dock area. Lots of shopping. We decided to leave the dock area and strick out on our own when we were there. Its very easy to just walk out the dock area into town. We hooked up with "Patrice"/http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1515939/ for a private tour and 2 other couples from the ship. We visited the local countryside for photo opps and went on to Mo-bay. There are many beautiful spots to visit such as the White Witch. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1515939
elou Posted June 28, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted June 28, 2012 Forgot to ask, is it better to do Good Hope "at your leisure" or do their Horse & Buggy tour. Beside, not walking, does the Buggy tour offer anything different? Thanks, again.
