willysgrandma Posted May 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2012 This is one port I really don't have a lot of interest in on our upcoming Med. cruise. I see there is a Hop On Hop Off bus there. Has anyone done this bus and if you have, what are your thoughts?

Has anyone done this bus and if you have, what are your thoughts? We used the HOHO bus in Marseilles. The traffic was bad and we sat in jams quite often (and it was Sunday, goodness knows what it's like during the week) I think it was probably the least interesting of all the HOHOS we've done - and that's quite a few. However it was a good way to get up to the church overlooking the city.
AngloinProvence Posted June 9, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2012 You could try the little tourist train (petit train). There are two routes, one up to Notre Dame de la Garde (the church on the hill) and the other through the equally hilly Old Town (the Panier). The advantage of the latter is that the Panier is closed to car traffic during the day, so you won't be sitting in traffic jams. janines Posted June 9, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2012 I'm jumping in on this message. We will be in Marseille on a Sunday as part of our cruise. I read that most everything is closed, including the wineries. So I was considering either the petite train or the Marseille greeter for a tour. Suggestions? janines
