:rolleyes:for the first time ever, i purchased the insurance for my husband and me. we are booked on the 19 aug. crossing from hamburg. my husband is in the hospital, having been unresponsive and requiring cpr.

my question is what do we do now. if he is well enough to be left in the care of others, i want to go on the sailing.

do i get a refund of his passage and then have to look for a roommate? do they permit me to just change the name of my cabin mate?

any other suggestions?

There will be a telephone number on your insurance certificate which I suggest you call and the claims team will advise you of your options. I imagine that if he is unable to travel they will refund you his fare and as Cunard have already been paid in full (I imagine), you can either travel on your own or see if your TA can arrange to substitute another passenger. I iimagine that there will be an admin fee for this.

In addition to covering your husband's cancellation, Cunard Care also covers the costs incurred with changing the occupancy/single supplement due to the cancellation of a travel companion. You would not have to find a replacement. You should call the customer service number to verify these benefits.
