Dream Gala dinner - own table in Orion?

Recommended Posts

If you go the first night and find a table. Speak to the Head Waiter assigned to that table. Tell him you will be in every night at a certain time. He will keep the table for you. Afterall he would rather see the same faces on his table for a week or 2 weeks. Means he will get a better tip.

We went to 2nd sitting as on gala night had our own table, and continued to have our own table any time we ate there, therafter, there was one occaision during the day when we were put at a table with others, however dicided we didn't fancy anything in the menu and left . nothing to do with the company.

We requested and were given a table on our own on Gala Night. In fact, Gala Night seemed to be a bit of a non-event really and nothing like we'd previously experienced on P&O. Its always nice to see everyone dressed up even if lots of us don't really fancy doing it initially, but as soon as the meal was finished on Dream, lots of people went back to their cabins to change into more casual clothes whereas on P&O passengers are not served in most of the bars all evening unless they conform to the dress code for the whole evening and whilst that may not appeal to everyone, at the same time it did give the ship a kind of magical air and, much to our amazement, we loved it.

Anyway, you should have no problem getting a table on your own. We had a table on our own most evenings even when they were busy because we explained that I had a bad cold and didn't want to spread my germs to anyone else so sometimes if there were no tables for two available, they would kindly give us a table for four and clear the other two place settings away. All the crew on Dream are so friendly, really lovely people and nothing seems to be too much bother for them. :)
