jamscckmc Posted June 8, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2012 We end our cruise tour in Fairbanks. Our flight doesn't leave till 5pm. We are looking for something to do like a tour that ends at the airport. Would love to do the flight to the Article circle but it looks like we don't have enough time. Suggestions? Thanks! Northern Aurora Posted June 8, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2012 Where are you staying in Fairbanks? Could the hotel keep your luggage while you visit the Museum of the North (on the University of Alaska campus)?
Budget Queen Posted June 8, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2012 Are you on any tours with your cruisetour in the am, or is it over? If you don't have the boat ride or gold rush cruisetour inclusion, then you certainly have time for a scenic flight, if you want one. Otherwise, I suggest taking a look around Fairbanks with a rental car. Fairbanks, really isn't a city "tour" vendor town.
CathyCruises Posted June 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2012 We are going to be in Fairbanks for a couple of days pre-cruise, no activities included. What is best to do while we are there? What exactly is the boat tour?
account4fun Posted June 8, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 8, 2012 What exactly is the boat tour? http://riverboatdiscovery.com/ The tour was fun to do and is a very popluar attraction. We also rented a car and drove out to Chena Hot Springs and Ice House. It was neat to see and the drive was nice as we spotted quite a few moose. jamscckmc Posted June 9, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted June 9, 2012 I think we will be at the Fairbanks Princess lodge but it seems Princess uses other hotels also. We have the riverboat/ gold panning tour included the day before. We have an included transfer to the airport probably around 3 but the rest of the day is free and we would like to see some of Fairbanks rather than hang out in the hotel lobby. You can get a cab to either.
