While passengers grump and whinge about cruise lines not suppling what they have booked,is not their first step the TA that sold them the cruise ,do the TAs tell them to read the small print at the back of the brochure or the conditions they sign up to when they book their cheap last minute cruise.

I suspect not,in fact perhaps some passengers havn,t even got a brochure to look at,if they have booked over the internet after seeing an add on the web or in the paper.

Its a shame really that so many people have their holidays spoilt .:)

I agree with your views. I am often shocked by the ignorance some passengers have about the cruise they have booked. I suspect that they book merely because of a "bargain" price. Often they are disappointed by the cruise of their choice which is a pity. Certainly I research not only the destinations but the cruise ship I am considering travelling on. There is so much infromation available in brochures, on websites and from a good travel agent who specialises in cruises.:)

A couple of points here:

1) OP, not everyone uses a TA. Yes, they **should** (IMO) but not everyone has a TA to go to.

2) Remember, it's not the TA that goes on the cruise and not the TA who spends thousands of dollars for this vacation. WHY, please tell me, would anyone book a trip not knowing ALL the important particulars? I agree: I too am shocked at how little some pax know about their vacations. I lay this responsibility, though, in the lap of the passenger. Don't fork over the money until you are satisfied you have the answers to your questions.

We certainly should not give free rein to the cruise lines or TA's to bilk the passenger, leave him out in the dark, or whatever, but come ON! The passenger has to be at least a little bit responsible for making sure he's going to a) know what he paid for and b) actually get it.
