We are due to sail on the Miracle in a couple of weeks....was wondering if they still have the live band out by the pool?? Been hearing about the cut backs of the bands and I really enjoy listening to the music out by the pool- it puts me in the "island mood":p Any other info/ update on the Miralce would also be appreciated!! Thanks.....

No live bands by the pool as far back as March. I remember walking through somewhere and there was a small band playing.

I really hope that there is more to a cruise than a live band to put you in the tropical mood.

Go and enjoy your cruise - relax, have a drink (leaded or unleaded) and enjoy!!!

As for info re: the Miracle, this was our 3rd Carnival cruise and first on this class. We enjoyed it immensely. The Serenity deck is very nice and peaceful, but, as others have posted, like any pool area, it is difficult to find loungers in the morning. We actually did other things during the day and sometimes didn't go to relax until mid-to-late afternoon and never had trouble finding loungers.

They have a dedicated comedy club and in our opinion, the comedians they had while we cruised were very funny. If memory serves me right, there were a total of 4 different comedians. They still have all the shows in the main theatre as well.

We are 'low maintenance' cruisers and really go to relax on the ship, see the sites in different ports, and clear our heads from life in general. Food is fine and plentiful -- you will not starve. There will be things you do like and things you don't. Just try not to stress over the things you don't like.

I'm sure you will enjoy your cruise - keep an open mind, don't overthink things and you'll be fine.

At the main pool, there's now a deafening DJ. In Frankie and Johnny's, a GREAT band named Music Unlimited.

All true. DJ at the pool, no island, calypso type music. He plays top 40 type hits very loudly.

Music Unlimited ( for some reason I kept calling them Music Boardwalk ) Were in Frankies and Johnnies twice.

There was a seven piece show band with a female singer at Jeeves 3 times and once at a 5:00PM "farewell" party (with no free alcohol) on the last sea day at The Mad Hatters Lounge.

A smaller part of this band ( 4 pieces ) accompanied the passengers during superstar karaoke twice.

There was a piano player/singer 5 tmes in Sams the piano bar.

There was a soloist in the Atrium and the Casino bar at least fives evenings. Those two switched back and forth between venues.

I just debarked the Miracle 3 days ago so this is the newest info available.

Hope it helps.

Music Unlimited only played twice in Frankies and Johnnies??? They usually play every night. I'm sailing again on the Miracle in August and hope to see them.

That's because Music Boardwalk was on the Miracle for only a couple of months. They played every night. Mary49

I could very well be wrong but I only saw them twice. They had Karaoke in there twice and I know for sure there was nothing going on in there twice. Sooooo I guess they may have been in ther another time or two but I really don't think so.

That is the only smoking bar still on the ship. So they seem to have limited the entertainment in there. ( You can still smoke at one area in the casino bar ).

The smoking in Frankies and Johnnies could be pretty bad. Usually I would go outside and sometimes listen to them. I wish they would stop the smoking in there. Sorry, but that's just me.

Yup....DJ by the pool.

But there is a lot of live music around the ship in the early evening/late night. I was actually quite impressed with all the choices.

- JD....Plays guitar and sings. He was at the Atrium Bar 6 evenings and the Casino bar 2 evenings

- Tony Ray......keyboard and singing (excellent fun!) played at the Casino bar 4 nights and the Atrium bar 2 nights

- Music Unlimited played in Frankie & Johnnies 5 nights and they also were in the Mad Hatters Lounge 1 night

- Brennan.....Piano Bar.....played 7 nights

There was also either karaoke or small band playing in the lounge near the dining room every evening.

I totally agree about Frankie & Johnnies and the smoking .....and I am a smoker!
