Where to park in Rotterdam?

Hi,

 

we are booked on an HAL cruise aboard Rotterdam to the South of Norway.

As we are travelling to port by car, what is the best (as in safest, best priced) place to park our car for the duration of our cruise?

When in Rotterdam we usually park in the garage opposite the cruise-terminal - on the cityside of Erasmusbrug - or use one of the spaces with parkingmeters very close to the terminal. The last one can only be used up to a few hours.

Parking in The Netherlands and Rotterdam is expensive.

Problem with Rotterdam is also you cannot pay cash, only use a chipcard which you can buy in various shops or (not in all places) use your creditcard. It is explained in this link.

What isnot in english is the link for the P & R parkingplaces. Most are in the outskirts, parking is free but you have to continue in public transport. However I wouldnot recommand that for a longer period of time.

Another option might be a book a hotel the night before and check if you car can be parked there. That might work again in the outskirts, but not in the city.
