Rare Silent Penguin Posted June 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2012 I've read Cruise Confidential and Ship for Brains. What other first person accounts of cruiseship employment would you recommend? Thanks.
pcvtmom Posted June 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Try The Truth About Cruise Ships by Jay Herring. Good read! It's from the point of view of an Information Technology Manager (which is an officer's position). I found it on Amazon.

VickiD59 Posted June 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Not exactly about cruise ships, but Caribbean Moon (Manny Williams Series) is a good who-done-it; a murder mystery that takes place on Carousel cruiseline, embarking in San Juan with a southern caribbean itinerary. It's book one of a series of three. Not a bad read and the minds eye is completely at home when reading all the ship stuff.

ml820 Posted June 10, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 10, 2012 This is one about the cruise line industry as a whole, not specifically about working on a ship: Devils on the Deep Blue Sea: The Dreams, Schemes and Showdowns That Built America's Cruise-Ship Empires http://www.amazon.com/Devils-Deep-Blue-Sea-Cruise-Ship/dp/0670034185
IslandGirl87 Posted November 25, 2012 #9 Share Posted November 25, 2012 I read Chronicles of a Cruise Ship Crew Member and really enjoyed it. It was really funny. It had good reviews and it was a great deal at $2.99. I recommend this book for a great read on your next cruise.
