Want to book a cruise for the end of July. But my son plays baseball and the District and sectional tournaments are earlier in July. If they win both the next tournament will be the week of our cruise. Will insurance cover if we have to cancel due to winning both tournaments???

No third-party insurer will cover this unless you purchase a plan that offers an optional "cancel for any reason" benefit.

You don't mention which cruise line you're using but several offer their own plan that includes a "cancel for any reason" benefit at no additional charge. However, if you do cancel because of the baseball situation you would be given a credit toward a future cruise (not cash) equal to about 75% of the amount of the cruise line's penalty. Since the cancellation would be very late -- maybe less than a week prior to sailing -- your penalty from the cruise line would almost assuredly be 100% of your cruise fare.

I believe that the credit towards a future cruise on Disney Cruise Line if you cancel for a non-covered reason is 100%. -- Suzanne
