Marlster Posted June 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2012 We are staying at the Hotel Continental in Barcelona, does anyone know if the food is better at the Hotel Continental or their sister Hotel Continental Palacete? Looking forward to the Pink Rooms.
Mura Posted June 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2012 We preferred the food at the Palacete. A greater variety was available during the day, as well. They just had more space for the food so they good a bit more. That said, you wouldn't want to just live on the Continental cuisine alone -- at either hotel! loum140 Posted June 22, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2012 The food at the Continental was plentiful (though mediocre), but I just loved the dark chocolate almond bark all the way on the far right of the buffet. If you time it right you can get there just as breakfast is being prepared and it's hot and fresh. It was certainly welcome and refreshing after the hop-on-hop-off bus and it hit the spot when we felt the need for a snack while waiting for the local restaurants to open at 8:30 p.m. for dinner. Speaking of the HOHO - if you plan to take it, ask at the front desk for a discount coupon -- I think it's 3 eu off the price p/p.
ZZROX Posted June 22, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2012 We stayed at the at the Palacete several years ago. We loved the hotel. The food was average. We did enjoy the breakfast. However, we also did not rely on the food for our other meals. It was nice having free snacks and drinks after coming back from touring.
