tonyrocks922 Posted June 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2012 Hi, I see that unlike its sister Jewel-class ships, the Jewel has no cigar lounge. Are there areas where cigar smoking is permitted? I'm aware that only cigarettes are allowed on cabin balconies. Thanks in advance!
LadyShiva Posted June 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2012 Here's NCL's policy about cigar smoking: http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/pressroom/pressRelease.html?storyCode=PR_080911b "In addition, the policy allows guests to smoke cigarettes, cigars and pipes in outdoor public guest spaces and open decks, where designated by the appropriate signage. Smoking is not permitted near outdoor venues which serve food, in open spaces such as the jogging track, sport complex, children’s pool and in The Haven outdoor areas." tonyrocks922 Posted June 22, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted June 22, 2012 thanks. so does every outdoor bar area serve food? basically I'm looking for somewhere I can sit and drink and have a cigar. Can be outdoor or indoor. I'm surprised they are getting rid of cigar lounges, since I know a lot of people object to cigar smoke, I wouldn't mind being restricted to a certain place where I could light up and not bother anyone. I'm aware that only cigarettes are allowed on cabin balconies. Thanks in advance! I was just on the Jewel in Alaska and I only saw people smoking in the Casino and outside on deck 6. Tho honestly, the only people I saw on deck 6 was when we were doing morning exercise at 6am and those people did not look like they were enjoying it! (it was cold and windy) Theres the casual smoker in the casino and then theres the addict in pajamas and no coat at 6am huddled behind a beam.. :p
Relax@Sea Posted June 22, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2012 When I was on the Pearl which is the sister ship to the Jewel in March of this year I smoked cigars on deck 12 near the Top Sider bar and it was allowed.
knitwitt44 Posted June 23, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 23, 2012 Yup, only place to smoke a cigar is up on deck 12, Top Sider bar, toward the right side. It is pretty rough when you leave NYC in the winter because it cold and freezing till you get down south. It is pretty annoying not having the enclosed cigar bar anymore. They took down the doors a few years ago and last year, banned cigars on balcony. So, up and forward to deck 12 on the Jewel. Can't understand it because the Dawn still has the enclosed Havana Club and it was so nice.

Yep, that's the place. At night you see a few of the ships officers up there smoking a cigar.

Relax@Sea Posted June 24, 2012 #9 Share Posted June 24, 2012 Wait -- they don't have a cigar bar on the Pearl??? Yes they do but I was addressing the question on the Jewel I do not see a cigar bar on the Jewel. The Cigar bar is by the Casino on the Pearl.
