tesk Posted June 24, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2012 Hi, I read where Hurtigruten were making changes to improve their service for the internet earlier this year. Can anyone comment on how they've found it this year? thanks in advance..
digitl Posted June 24, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2012 On the Fram in Antarctica and the South Atlantic it was reasonably fast. Certainly useable. Just try to avoid busy times and make sure you actually log off after each session. If you don't, the session is presumed to continue and you will lose whatever time you had left. gaelsail Posted June 25, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2012 On Finnmarken earlier this year there was free internet access via 2 computers in the observation lounge. Reception did vary with where we were along the coast/bad weather. Access to the computer varied, there were quite a lot of youngsters onboard (Easter) but it was always possible to get online at some point. WisRiver Posted June 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2012 We were on the Finnmarken in May, 2012 sailing from Kirkenses to Bergen, and had brought an iPad. We were able to get wi-fi in all public areas including the top level observation lounge where they had two public computers. In addition we were able to get a signal in our 3rd deck cabin. There service was slow and sometimes we were dropped, but we were able to use e-mail and listen to internet radio. Enjoy
