Skagway Train/bus tour

Which tour would most people recommend? would you book it from the Celebrity cruise or directly? Also, is it possible to wait and book it somewhere on the dock when we arrive?

If you are off your ship when it clears, you likely will be able to pick up a round trip White Pass RR ride. If you are looking for a combo tour- you need to reserve this ahead.

These tours start early morning, and it would be difficult to do arrange this at the last minute.

 

People are hopefully only recommend what they have already done? In my opinion, the top choice, if interested in the railroad is the Lake Bennet tour. I went with Chilkoot Tours, which I highly recommend. I have driven the Klondike Highway many times, and recommend as a "must" purchasing "Murray's Guide". I have met Dyea Dave, but have not toured with him.

 

Read the detailed tour descriptions. I would make a ship excursion the last choice. Large buses, fixed time and stops. Extended time, just loading and unloading.
