Gerd Posted June 30, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2012 . Hello all, I could need an advise about purchasing camera stuff. As you can see from my two counters here below, we will do even two cruises consecutively. In order to be prepared for taken pictures, I would by an additional lens which one fits perfect between those two. My Camera is an CANON EOS 60D, and I do have already an CANON EF-S 15-85mm lens, and also an CANON EF 70-300mm IS USM lens. CANON does not really have one - but there is certainly one from another brand which is as high in quality then my "IS" lens.... Could someone please help and tell where either in Vancouver or in Seattle I could find a competent camera shop. And eventually someone could already give me advise about a good lens !! Many thanks in advance Happy cruising G E R D Our marvelous cruises : :) MS Ryndam – Wayfarer – March 1997 MS Noordam - Transatlantic Island Hook - April 2001 MS Volendam - Southern Caribbean - April 2002 MS Volendam - Westfarer Caribbean - April 2004 MS Prinsendam - Windmills & Waterford – September 2004 MS Westerdam - Western Caribbean - April 2005 MS Statendam - Hawaii Circle - September 2005 MS Rotterdam - Vikings and Czars – July 2006 MS Veendam - Southern Caribbean – March 2007 MS Volendam – Panama Canal – April 2008 MS Noordam – Mediterranean Enchantment – September 2009 MS Nieuw Amsterdam - Mediterranean Inaugural Cruise - July 2010 MS Nieuw Amsterdam - Mediterranean Empires - July 2010 MS Ryndam – North Cape Splendors - June 2011 193 days - 42'587 Nm : Future Cruises : :p 7 days MS Volendam – Glacier Bay Inside Passage, July 18, 2012 14 days MS Amsterdam – Alaskan Adventure, July 27, 2012 . trvlcrzy Posted July 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2012 Will you have time/car to travel in Seattle or Vancouver? This might impact the radius in which to search for camera shops. You are doing two cruises. What is your time frame of leaving one and boarding the next? Will you be traveling from Vancouver to Seattle (or vice versa) by train, car, bus? Found this site for a shop in Seattle... http://www.glazerscamera.com/ Another Seattle... http://www.ritzcameraandimage.com/store/1032.php this one is in Vancouver... http://www.bccamera.com/ Vancouver again... http://www.kerrisdalecameras.com/
Gerd Posted July 1, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted July 1, 2012 . Hello"trvlcrzy" we will be already 5 days prior the the Ms Volendam cruise in Vancouver, and two days before the Ms Amsterdam cruise in Seattle (transfer by HAL shuttle to Seattle). Because from here in Europe checking, I do not have yet determined which lens would be the one for me - so I will therefore visit a.m.a.p. from your proposed shops. See you on my second cruise on July 28th at 11.00 AM in the CrowsNest.;) I also would say, that each one could write there credentials while entering the CrowsNest – because we are now close to 60 people…. And if you would mention a provisory e-mail address on our bloc in order we send you our cabin number etc. this would be certainly helpful. Happy cruising G E R D .
