Carnival playing cards ?

Last time we cruised they gave away decks of cards. Do they still do this? Or should I bring my own?

Yep. Was able to on Valor in February and Imagination in May. Just ask at

 

the service desk !

Are they just regular 'ol playing cards like you can buy in the store?

 

Or, do they have the Carnival logo and/or picture of the ship on the back?

The deck that we got had the Carnival logo on them. They were those plastic see thru type I don't find them to be very good for playing.

We always pack a deck of cards "just in case" and became quite addicted to playing in the Red Frog Pub each evening on our recent Magic cruise. We wanted to buy a deck with Carnival Magic on the cards to have as a memory of our trip. The only one's available to purchase in the store had cocktail recipes or Caribbean islands - we were surprised. All of that "Carnival Souvenir stuff" and no cards!

They were for sale in the casino for a dollar a pack on the legend in early June.

Yu can also buy a deck that has been used in the Casino for 1 dollar.

We just got off the Miracle, and the decks of cards weren't available until the middle of the cruise. My DD's asked every day. We weren't sure where they came from...:confused:

Got a new deck of cards on miracle the first day, about an hour after we got on the ship.

We were told the same thing about the postcards that were supposed to be available at the desk

On the Magic in February, got two decks of cards from Guest Services. I wanted a postcard with the Magic on it, but they said they didn't have any, I'd have to go to the Gift Shop. The ones they had there were different ports, none with the Magic on them.

Last year, on both the Dream & the Paradise, we bought the 'used' decks in the casino for $1. They never seemed to have any at guest services.

I have never bought any cards on Carnival. Just go to the service desk and they are more than happy to give you a deck! All you have to do is ask.

We were on the conquest last week and I asked for a deck and the guy handed me 2 decks. That was on Wednesday. A friend was able to get a deck on Saturday as well, the last day at sea.

they also sell them 2 for a dollar in our local dollar tree. I think carring them would increase our total checked bag lbs by 0.0023%

THey were out at he service desk when we were on the Magic, so they sent me to the gift store where they gave me a deck. YMMV

We have got them at the pursers/GS desk but the used decks from the casino are better quality for a buck. They are punched sometimes on the sides sometimes in the middle.
