Is there wi-fi in the cabin onboard the Spirit? I know it is not free. How does this work? Can it be pre-paid?

Yes. We purchased an internet package on our last cruise on the Spirit and were able to access it from our room.

You purchase it onboard the ship. Just go to the internet cafe (not sure what it's called) and they have a variety of plans you can purchase. They'll give you an instruction sheet on how to access it from your room. We didn't have any problems with it at all. We always get an internet package as I travel with my DD (she's 17) and it allows her to keep in touch with her friends.

You might also do well to look into internet cafes, Starbucks etc. at your ports of call. A lot cheaper that way...and the connection might be a darned sight faster than the ship's. :)
