737Captain Posted May 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2005 Wife and I are going on the Victory this Sunday. I need to arrange transportation home after the cruise (we live in South Fla.) What time can I reasonably expect to be off the ship and ready for pick up? My wife and I are in no rush to get off and would like to have a nice liesurely breakfast and avoid the rush. big_duck Posted May 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2005 Provided you arrive on time, you should be able walk right off the ship by around 10:00 AM. Add in time to get your bags/clear customs and head outside plus fudge factor figure pick-up for 10:30.
paralegal Posted May 10, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2005 My boyfriend and I just got back on Sunday from a cruise on the Victory. If you are sailing the E. Caribbean, then you do not have to go through immigration when you get back to Miami since you had to do that in St. Thomas. They started the self-disembarkation around 7:45 a.m. and that lasted for an hour. My boyfriend and I did the self-disembarkation since we live in Orlando and wanted to get on the road. I think we were off the ship by 8:30 a.m. I would assume sometime after 7:45 a.m. they would start calling either the colored luggage tags or the different the decks to start disembarkation. Wennfred Posted May 10, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2005 You can be off the ship as earily as 7:30, When I was on the Triumph, they started this earily check out if you can carry off your own bags off the ship and you are a U.S. Citizen, then you just walk off from 6:30 to 9am, we did that and was off the ship in no time. serene56 Posted May 10, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2005 Take your time and dont be in a rush. Even being last off you can be off before 10:30. Stating 10am is a good time to be picked up. Dont you have a cell phone that you can call when your color is called?? Paralegal: We did the Eastern on the Victory and customs in Miami after we got back. (twas a mess too as a lot of people did not pay their bill) where did you go that Customs was taken care of before you came back home?
Rare finoky Posted May 10, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2005 We came back from the Victory on May 1st. The begain seld assist around 7:30AM. That ran till about 9AM. After that they announced general debarkation to begin and we are free to leave the ship. There was no calling of colors as in the past. This created a bottleneck and basically a disaster. We headed down as soon as this was announced and was outside the terminal with luggage in hand at 10:30. It took us almost an hour to go through the process.
