HappiestManinTX Posted July 23, 2012 #26 Share Posted July 23, 2012 We cruised to Alaska on the Rhapsody of the Seas and flew with Drake over the glaciers just after he had discovered this landslide. If that's not cruise related I don't know what is. He has the best prices and service in the area and his website is http://www.flydrake.com if you are going to be in Skagway this is far better than a helicopter ride to land on a glacier for 5 minutes and then fly back. Umbarger Posted July 23, 2012 #27 Share Posted July 23, 2012 Sorry if this is off topic but this reminds me of something said on our Zuiderdam cruise recently. A lady was complaining that the glacier was dirty in places and "couldn't someone clean it up a bit"
solocanadian Posted July 23, 2012 #28 Share Posted July 23, 2012 A dramatic picture of this 'black glacier' can be seen at: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/13/glacier-bay-national-park-landslide_n_1669832.html?utm_hp_ref=green Thanks for the link - extremely interesting! :)
