Orient Beach - Christmas Day

We will be in St Martin on Christmas Day. Will the beach places on Orient Beach be open? Also, I know this is a spiritual island, do you think there will be a full compliment of cab drivers that day or do you think many will be taking the day off?

I haven't been on-island on Christmas Day, but legally, most shops on the Dutch side will be required to be closed (unsure about the French side), but I looked and there seems to be FIVE ships in port on Christmas Day 2012.

I would expect the Cruise Facility and associated shops there, the entire Taxi Fleet and all of the Beach Bars to be running at full speed.

Christmas on St. Martin is great. I've done it many times. Although the stores are closed, the beaches and restaurants are open.
